How to get a Museum Pass? 3 methods

There are three practical ways to get a Museum Pass — pick the one that feels fastest for you:

  1. Via e-Devlet (the fastest): Sign in to your e-Devlet account, type "Müze Kart İşlemleri" in the search bar; after you pay, your digital card (QR code) becomes active at once.
  2. "Türkiye'nin Müzeleri" mobile app: Download the app, create a membership and start using your mobile Museum Pass as a QR code at once — you do not need to wait for a physical card.
  3. From museum box offices: Go to the card-issue stations at the entrance of large museums with photo ID (T.C. identity, passport or driving licence); the process takes a few minutes and you receive the card in person.

If you applied online, the physical card is shipped to your address in about a few days; if you do not want to wait, the mobile Museum Pass is more practical because it can be used at once.

What to watch before you buy

  • Not every museum accepts the Museum Pass — private, municipal and some foundation museums are outside the scheme.
  • Places officially listed as outside Museum Pass coverage: the Harem of Topkapı Palace, Hagia Irene, Beykoz Glass Museum, the Terrace Houses at the Ephesus archaeological site, the Dark Church at Göreme Open-Air Museum, Sedir Island, Istanbul Cinema Museum and the Serçe Harbour gallery at Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology — a separate ticket is required for these sites.
  • Night museum events (Nemrut, Ephesus, Göreme and similar) are not covered by the Museum Pass; a separate paid e-ticket is required.
  • The card is personal and cannot be used by anyone else; if misuse is found, the card is cancelled.
  • Expired cards cannot be extended; a new application is required.
